Education Enrichment and
Literacy Development

Library and Educational Enrichment Centre

A place where children and teens from the community can access a large selection of learning toys and puzzles and participate in free group tutoring sessions 5 days a week. Soon classes will be offered for adults who struggled in the past. A place where library members, pastors and others from the community can borrow books for personal enjoyment, study, proclamation of the Gospel and research. A safe and clean environment where children can study independently or with friends before and/or after school. A place where Christian literature promotes character,faith in Jesus and values that will shape learners for the future.

Foundational Learning

Teaching basic literacy to both children and adults (through this program some adult members of society have learned to write their names for the first time ever!) Beginners learn basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills allowing them to thrive in school.

Opportunities to Expand Learning

Learners of all ages have access to games, puzzles, building blocks, coloring and learning pages and balls of all kinds to encourage learning and promote fitness

Vocational Training

Tailoring

Women and men of the communities are taught basic sewing skills enabling them to develop income-generating opportunities. They also make necklaces and
fashion accessories using various damaged fabrics, paper, scrap material,
recycled plastics, and bottle tops under the RecycloCraftz program.

Nutrition

The nutritional outreach takes on many forms. We have a small garden at the ministry center. From composted materials and vegetable scraps new vegetables for daily staff lunches grow. Providing one fully balanced meal for the staff members is a huge benefit for most. Gradually, life lessons concerning nutrition, as well as education concerning food and airborne allergies topics are taught and caught, bringing better health to many.

Medical Assistance

Practical medical aid and financial assistance to more care is a constant need. Much needed education shapes the future for generations to come. Global 8235 helps with asthma care, BP meds and monitoring, herbal help for arthritis, eye evaluations and distribution of free glasses, solving digestive problems and teaching about better dental care. We even provided a prosthesis and therapeutic follow up for a widow in our group.

Secure Housing

We help to provide secure housing as the need arises so people can have a safe and secure place to lay their head at night. When a family`s house caught fire and was razed to the ground or when a widow`s property was grabbed after the death of her husband Global 8235 stepped to help.

Financial Literacy

We teach Financial Literacy and Money Management skills to our staff and our artisans. Some of these teachings may include introducing formal and informal saving opportunities, interest-free microloans, as well as budgeting training. Many in our targeted communities are empowered and develop income generating ventures.

Discipleship

At Global8235, we believe that without making an eternal difference, our work is in vain. Discipleship may take the form of women`s Bible study, evangelistic eye clinics, and financial aid given to pastors in rural areas to further their outreach. We assist students in seminary, share the Jesus Film, and distribute Bibles in prisons to individuals and pastors requesting multiple copies for their ministries.

Regularly, children and teens at the Learning Center learn Bible stories, puzzles, and games. During this time they also hear Biblical Principles and the transforming power of Jesus.
