Ministry Founder
TRACY MURRAY
Tracy Murray is the proud mother of eight grown children and an occupational therapist by training. Though she never imagined starting a nonprofit—especially in Africa—her journey began through homeschooling and reading missionary stories with her children, inspiring a shared heart for service.
At 13, Tracy accepted Jesus, deeply moved by 2 Corinthians 5:17, which speaks of becoming a new creation in Christ. Years later, a pastor’s message about carrying a burden for a people stirred her missionary calling.
In 2005, during a short visit to Zambia, Tracy felt an immediate connection with the people. By 2007, she relocated with seven of her children, initially focused on children’s ministry. However, meeting Irene, a woman living in a nearby slum, shifted her path. Tracy’s heart expanded to women’s empowerment through what became RecycloCraftz—an artisan ministry transforming recycled materials into beautiful crafts, embodying the spirit of renewal from 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Founded as New Creation Ministry in 2008 and renamed RecycloCraftz after a divine inspiration, the ministry grew from humble beginnings to support artisans mainly in the Kamanga Compound. Though Tracy spent 2011–2022 in the U.S. raising family and caring for aging parents, she made many trips back to Zambia and remaining deeply connected to the ministry selling the RecycloCraftz products in the US and overseeing the Zambian Director. She returned to Zambia full-time in 2022 after the the ministry re-branded as Global 8235 to reflect its expanded mission, including seven key outreach areas.
Today, Tracy is passionate about educational enrichment and literacy development. She looks forward to spending more time “sitting in the dirt” alongside women and children teaching them to read so they can read God’s Word. She envisions the next 15–20 years continuing to nurture transformation in Zambia through Global 8235’s holistic ministries.

Elita Phiri
Global 8235/ RecycloCraftz
Co-Manager
I joined RecycloCraftz in 2013 through my mom, who is still an active member today. When I started, I didn’t know how to sew or use a computer – but today, I can sew all our products and I’m continuing to grow my computer skills. My favorite items to make are the computer bags and backpacks!
As Co-Manager, I help with purchasing materials, teaching other women how to sew, leading the production team, and designing new products. I also help oversee the entire RecycloCraftz program. One thing I really love about being here is our daily devotion time – it’s helped me grow closer to God and stronger in my faith. I look forward to learning even more skills and continuing to help other women grow too.
Wendy Chilangwa
Global 8235/RecycloCraftz
Co-Manager
I first heard about RecycloCraftz in 2008 through my mother, who joined with other women from our neighborhood. I officially became involved in 2010, starting as a beginner in sewing and growing into my current role as Production Co – Manager.
I now design both new and classic products and oversee production to make sure everything we create meets high standards for our local and international customers. I love working with people from different backgrounds and learning something new every day – both as an artisan and as a manager.
Priscilla Mwanza first connected with Global 8235 in 2010 during a visit to orphans in John-Laig Compound, where she lived. She soon became an active member of the RecycloCraftz artisan community.
Statement of Faith
ESTHER MWAILENGE
Esther Mwailenge was born in Ndola,
Zambia. She did her primary and secondary
education there before moving to Lusaka. While
doing her post-secondary education she sewed
for the RecycloCraftz ministry which helped her
pay for her living expenses while at university.
Following her education in Zambia she went to
South Africa and received additional training in
her chosen field of Physiotherapy. Esther says, “I
joined the board of Global 8235 and I’m glad
to be part of the organization. I’m impressed to
see the work, the determination and the effort
the organization has made to build and improve
the lives of many people.’
MAULDRINE MWAILENGE
GOD
We believe in one God who
exists in three distinct persons:
the Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit. (2 Corinthians 13:14;
Matthew 28:19)
JESUS
We believe that Jesus Christ is
the Son of God who became
flesh to reveal God to us and
to become the Savior of the
lost. (Matthew 3:16-17; 1
John 5:7-8)
SALVATION
We believe that the blood
shed of Jesus Christ on the
cross provides the sole basis
for the forgiveness of sins.
(Luke 24:46-47; John 1:29;
Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:7-9;
Revelation 5:9)
HUMANITY
We believe that people are
created in the image of God
to have fellowship with Him
but become alienated from
that relationship through sinful
disobedience. As a result,
people are totally incapable
of coming back into the right
relationship with God by their
own effort. (Genesis 1:26;
Romans 3:23)
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy
Spirit took residence within
those who placed their trust in
Jesus Christ after he ascended
into heaven, and the same is
true today. The Holy Spirit’s
purpose is to edify and
empower the individual
believer and church and is
alive and active today, as
well as the gifts of the Spirit
chronicled in the New
Testament. (Acts 1:5, 8;
Ephesians 3:16)
JESUS
We believe that every
Christian should live for Christ
and not for oneself. By
obedience to the Word and
every day yielding to the
Spirit, every believer should
mature and become
conformed to the image of
Christ. (Matthew 16:24; John
14:23; Galatians 5:25; II
Corinthians 3:18; I
Thessalonians 4:3)
THE CHURCH
We believe that the church is
the body of Christ of which
Jesus Christ is the Head. The
members are those who have
trusted by faith in the finished
work of Christ. The purpose of
the church is to glorify God by
loving Him and by making Him
known to a lost world. (I
Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians
1:22-23, 3:10-11)
THE BIBLE
We believe the entire Bible is
the inspired Word of God
and that men were moved by
the Spirit to write the very
words of Scripture. It is Godbreathed, and is useful for
teaching, rebuking, correcting,
and training in righteousness,
so that all may be thoroughly
equipped for every good
work. (Proverbs 30:5; 2
Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter
1:20-21)
